Model BA/MCS Student Schedule

 

The following checkpoints give a model student schedule for the joint BA/MCS program. Here, we assume the student commits to the major only at the beginning of their sophomore year, having spent their freshman year exploring Computer Science (through pre-major courses such as CS:1000 and CS:1110) as one of a number of possible majors. We also assume the student opts to satisfy their MCS requirements entirely with graduate computer science classes (rather than up to two technical courses approved by their advisor), and that the student holds a GA position in their fifth year (resulting in a reduced load of 10 semester hours during the last two terms). Cross-credited courses are bolded.

First Semester
