Interested in learning more about computer science, technology, and software in a fun and friendly environment?

ACM@UIOWA is the local student chapter of the International Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), one of the oldest and largest professional organizations in tech. We promote computing and technology in a fun and casual environment and serve as the premier Computer Science student organization at Iowa (of course, students of all majors are welcome to join!).

Have you considered graduate school but aren’t sure if it's right for you? Navigating the next steps in your career can be challenging whether you're deciding between academia and industry, exploring the most valuable skills for a software developer, or considering graduate school. Understanding how a master's degree in computer science or computer engineering can impact your career is key.

This Thursday, the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) @UIowa will be hosting a live "MCS in Industry" panel! Join us for an engaging in-person panel discussion featuring four local industry professionals (all UIowa alums!) who have earned master’s degrees in computer science or computer engineering:

  • Fred Galoso (‘13 CS BA) from Atlassian

  • Meredith Godar (’14 EE BSE) from NISC

  • Audrey Powers (’24 MCS) from Nationwide

  • Steven Davis (‘01 CS BS | ’03 ECE MS) from Bio::Neos

Learn from their experiences and get your questions answered in this interactive in-person Q&A session! Come listen to the stories these speakers have to share about their motivations for going into grad school and how to make the most of the experience.
