Mission
The mission of the Computer Science Department is:

• to advance the state-of-the-art in computer science, promote and engage in interdisciplinary research, and address broader technology related societal issues at the intersection of computing and everyday life;
• to provide outstanding undergraduate and graduate computing education that prepares students technically, scientifically, and ethically for lifelong success and personal fulfillment in our modern society;
• to serve the College, the University, the people of Iowa, the nation, and the world with our collective expertise; and
• to advance our goals while maintaining the highest standards of collegiality and professionalism.
