Interested in learning more about computer science, technology, and software in a fun and friendly environment?

ACM@UIOWA is the local student chapter of the International Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), one of the oldest and largest professional organizations in tech. We promote computing and technology in a fun and casual environment and serve as the premier Computer Science student organization at Iowa (of course, students of all majors are welcome to join!).

The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) will be hosting its second-to-last meeting for the school year!

Agenda:

  • Cybersecurity Opportunities with the Air Force & Space Force

Kyle Harvey, Professor of Aerospace Studies and University of Iowa outreach officer for the USAF will give a brief 10-minute talk (plus Q&A) about exciting cybersecurity roles and internships available through the U.S. Air Force and Space Force.

  • Executive Board Candidate Intros

Hear 1–2 minute blurbs from students running for ACM exec positions next year! More information on how to vote will be shared tomorrow during the meeting and later on our social media platform, Discord.

  • Social + Study Hour

The rest of the evening is open for casual conversation, connecting with peers, and catching up on homework.

Please reach out to acm@uiowa.edu or nnahra@uiowa.edu if you have any questions or concerns!
