Among the hundreds of student groups on campus, some are devoted to computer science, including Women in Computing Sciences (WiCS) and the student chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM).

Women in Computing Sciences (WiCS)

The University of Iowa Women in Computing Sciences, WiCS, is a group dedicated to encouraging young women to pursue technology related fields and build a community of technical women at the university and beyond through community outreach, professional development, and peer networking.

Association of Computing Machinery (ACM)

The Student Chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery at the University of Iowa is a local student chapter of the much larger ACM organization. On campus, we promote computing in a fun and friendly environment. All of our activities are put on for and by the students with help from the Computer Science department, which sponsors our organization.
