Interested in learning more about computer science, technology, and software in a fun and friendly environment?
ACM@UIOWA is the local student chapter of the International Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), one of the oldest and largest professional organizations in tech. We promote computing and technology in a fun and casual environment and serve as the premier Computer Science student organization at Iowa (of course, students of all majors are welcome to join!).
We'll be hosting a talk with guest speaker Fred Galoso. Fred is a UIowaCS alum (BA13), Senior Principal Engineer, and Trello Lead Architect at Atlassian.
Come and learn about what it means to be a Software Architect at a big tech company and get a picture of the "day-in-the-life" at Atlassian. Additionally, Fred will touch on the differences between working at start ups and big tech, how to make the most of your college experience, and his experience going through grad school.
As always, there will be pizza.
Those who are not ACM@UIOWA members should go to Chapter website for more information and to join!
