Interested in learning more about computer science, technology, and software in a fun and friendly environment?
ACM@UIOWA is the local student chapter of the International Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), one of the oldest and largest professional organizations in tech. We promote computing and technology in a fun and casual environment and serve as the premier Computer Science student organization at Iowa (of course, students of all majors are welcome to join!).
This Association for Computing Machinery meeting will be about quantitative finance!
Don't let the name fool you though, no finance knowledge is required. Quants don't often have degrees in finance, but rather degrees in computer science, math, statistics, physics, or engineering. Quantitative finance just applies the technical knowledge you have in a new (and extremely lucrative) way! I'll be giving a presentation about the field and career paths within it. There will be extra focus on relating content to computer science, so it'll be very relevant for everyone!
As always, there will be pizza.
Those who are not ACM@UIOWA members should go to Chapter website for more information and to join!
