"Dynamic Healthcare Embeddings for Improving Patient Care" by Hankyu Jang, Sulyun Lee (Informatics PhD '22), D. M. Hasibul Hasan, Philip M. Polgreen, Sriram V. Pemmaraju and Bijaya Adhikari won the runner up prize for the best student paper award at the 2022 IEEE/ACM International Conference on Advances in Social Network Analysis and Mining (ASONAM 2022).
In this paper, the authors "propose DECENT, an auto-encoding heterogeneous co-evolving dynamic neural network, for learning heterogeneous dynamic embeddings of patients, doctors, rooms, and medications from diverse data streams. These embeddings capture similarities among doctors, rooms, patients, and medications based on static attributes and dynamic interactions."
ASONAM provides an interdisciplinary venue that brings together researchers and practitioners from a broad variety of fields to promote collaborations and exchange of ideas and practices. ASONAM 2022 is intended to address important aspects with a specific focus on emerging trends and industry needs. The conference solicits empirical, experimental, methodological, and theoretical research reporting original and unpublished results on social network analysis and mining along with applications.
