"Brintle intended to major in physics, but switched to computer science." After a few years working in software development for the university, Brintle and two partners launched Leepfrog in 1994 as a general-purpose software supplier. The company’s name comes from his 1989 internet handle, derived from his first name and middle initial. 'Writing internet software was a very weird, very obscure niche,” he said. “Windows 95 wasn’t even out yet, and it was very difficult to get connected to the internet.'"
