After graduating in May, CJ is already thriving in his career. "The opportunities given to me by the University of Iowa were like no other," he says.

Professor Tinelli's research interests include automated reasoning, formal methods, software verification, foundations of programming languages, and application of logic in computer science. He is the Co-Director of the Computational Logic Center, as well as the recipient of an NSF Career Award.

UI Computer Science researchers recently received an Outstanding Paper award at the 14th IEEE conference on Healthcare Informatics (IEEE ICHI 2026), in Minneapolis, Minnesota, for their paper: “Real-Time Environment-Specific Deep Denoising for Edge-Assisted Hearing Aids.”
